Are you working and need help paying for childcare?

Quick Facts
What is it?
Help paying for early childhood and school-age care for families who are working. This assistance is also provided to teen parents attending high school.

What do I get?
You can receive help paying your childcare costs. The amount of support and your expected contribution will depend on your income and household size. Parents contribute toward the cost of care based on a sliding income scale. You can choose the child care provider you want but the provider must be licensed, registered or approved by the Child Care Resource Network.

How long do I get it?
You can get help paying for childcare as long as you still qualify. You will have to recertify after 6 months. When it's time to recertify, you'll get a letter in the mail. You must respond to this letter or your benefits will end.

Look Out
According to New York State law, single parents applying for state funded childcare services must show proof that they are actively seeking child support before they can receive services.
