What is it? Children's Medicaid provides comprehensive health insurance for kids 18 and under. What do you get? Free medical services such as doctors’ services, dental care, eyeglasses, home care, hospital care, and many other health-related services. Most people who receive Children's Medicaid in Erie County must enroll in a managed care plan. You have 60 days to select a plan. Like Medicaid for adults, Children's Medicaid provides retroactive coverage for medical bills paid by you in the past three months. How long do you get it? Your kids can get Children's Medicaid as long as they still qualify but you'll need to recertify them every 12 months. 'Re-certify' means that a Medicaid worker checks that they are still eligible for Children's Medicaid. |
